身为民俗学者的边承林带着诡异的四段拓片，来到了拓片诗词上隐藏的神秘村庄。可他未曾想到的是，这一趟旅程，竟牵扯到了村庄里几十年前的几桩祭祀，这四张不知是何人寄给他的拓片，其中也隐藏着关于他自身的秘密，随着他调查的深入，真相也在逐渐浮出水面……
在游戏中，玩家不仅可以在现实中以边承林的身份探索村庄，还可以进入拓片中的鬼故事，扮演故事的主角进行线索的搜集与解谜。
同时，玩家可以将在鬼故事中和现实中搜集到的线索根据相关提示进行放置，合成出某个问题的推理结论。
在推理结论成功合成之后，有概率会出现“提问关键词”，这时玩家便可使用手机进入民间异事研究社团的群聊中，根据群聊成员的对话，选择正确的提问人，并且匹配相关提问关键词，获得更多信息。
每一段拓片中的鬼故事，都以独特的美术风格呈现；切换到鬼故事主角的视角，带来沉浸式的故事体验。
横跨几十年的故事，谜团与真相相互交织，为了得到祂的赐福与庇佑，镇压恶鬼、取悦神灵、献祭生魂。
所有的“遗言”被铭刻在那四方的“天”上，拓印至村志中，沉睡在底下的英魂会受到全村人的敬仰。
